Every year, the Shia community observe the anniversary of Ashura, the day on which the Battle of Karbala took place; namely, October, 10, 680 CE. On that day, Prophet Mohammad’s grandson and 72 of his followers were brutally killed. Yet, compared to the pain and suffering that has been going on in Occupied Palestine and specifically in Gaza for so many years, it is fair to admit that the level of injustice and brutality of the Apartheid State against Gazans is far more disgusting and painful. Keeping in mind that Egypt, a MuslimArab state is complicit with Israel in the Blockade of the Gaza Strip since 2007, the depth of the tragedy becomes more stunning. Adding the fact that the US just vetoed a UN resolution to protect Palestinian civilians, the situation becomes more hopeless. But that’s not the only case where the world is turning a blind eye on crimes against humanity. The Blockade of Yemen, followed by the Saudi invasion of the country started in 2015, not surprisingly with help from the US causing the worst global famine according to a UN report. Nowadays, during the month of Ramadan, when Muslims fast from dawn till sunset in search of spiritual awakening and blessing, it is not only a Muslim’s duty, but also a last chance for humanity to lift a hand in help to those in need, specially our brothers and sisters in Gaza, Sanaa and pray for the oppressed Rohingya. “Hands that help are better than lips that pray” according to Cyrus the Great, the founder of Persia who freed the enslaved Jews in Babylon in 539 BC. Not to mention that the real Satan is the Industrial MilitaryMedia Complex that diverts the attention and resources from well-being of all human-beings. It’s now the best time to fight the devil inside and get prepared for the war with the Greater Satan. راه در جهان یکی است, و آن راستی است.
