Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif lashed out at the US for exerting pressure on other countries to violate a UN Security Council resolution which emphasizes facilitation of trade and cooperation with Tehran after the 2015 nuclear deal.
"A country, or a person (Trump), asks other countries to violate the contents of a UNSC resolution (2231) on normalizing relations with Iran. No revolution has happened in the US and there has just been a change in the administration. This is a challenge that we are facing, and we are resolved in political and economic terms to confront this challenge," Zarif said, addressing the Iran-India economic forum in New Delhi on Tuesday.
He referred to the embargos imposed by Washington against Iran, and said, "The sanctions are not new and we will continue cooperation with our friends."
Zarif stressed that Tehran and New Delhi enjoy the necessary political will to come over the challenges.
US President Donald Trump claimed on Sunday that the sanctions on Iran were affecting its economy, since US withdrawal from nuclear deal. "They (Iranians) are not in a good situation. They want talks," he said.
Provided by FARS News Agency Zarif Blasts US for Pressuring Gov'ts to Violate UNSC Resolution on Iran Contrary to Trump’s claims, Economy Minister Farhad Dejpasand asserted on Saturday that Iran’s economic cooperation with other countries was growing, reassuring that US plots against the country’s economy would not get realized.

* * * “Enemies' troubled dreams against Islamic Iran will not come true and after a period of crisis, the situation will be improved,” he highlighted.
In response, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani denied US President Donald Trump's claim that Tehran has requested talks with Washington, saying that the White House has persistently been requesting Iran to agree to talks, but Tehran is adamant to negotiations with such an "untrustworthy" administration.
"Americans speak more of their dreams than realities. These are the Americans that are sending message to request negotiation today. During my visit to Afghanistan two representatives (of the US) came to me to tell me that the US wants to negotiate, but it is clear that Iran will not negotiate with them because the US does not keep its promises and is untrustworthy and negotiations with it is meaningless," Shamkhani said in Tehran on Monday.
"Who would guarantee your signature," he asked. He referred to the Europeans and other signatories to the nuclear deal, and said, "Those who had undertaken cooperation with Iran under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action should take responsibility; time is up."
He also blasted US National Security Advisor John Bolton and Israel for making decisions and devising strategies on Iran based on the bulletins released by the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, also known as the MEK, PMOI and NCRI) terrorist group, advising them to at least change the terms and words used by the MKO in their bulletins and not to insert the same words exactly in their National Security Strategy.
Also, Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said on Saturday that the Americans had taken aim at the Iranian people’s livelihood but their dream to bring Iran’s oil sales to zero was not fulfilled.
Jahangiri said that the Americans had taken aim at the Iranian people’s livelihood, as they impose sanctions on basic goods and raw materials needed for production.
“US is trying to stop major Iranian income resource, that’s to say oil sales, as they in their own imagination wanted to bring oil sales to zero but they failed with the grace of God,” he said.
